This article will review best practices for creating a ticketed event.
To start, click NEW EVENT in your dashboard.
Fill in your REQUIRED DETAILS just like you would for any other event.
For more information on this, refer to Creating an Event in Seatrobot.
Once you press SAVE, the REGISTRATION BUTTON window will pop up. This is where ticketed events differ from free events. This registration button is only ever relevant to free events. So we're going to do a few steps to ensure it doesn't show up for our guests.
Start by changing the MAX REGISTRATIONS WITH THIS BUTTON to 0.
Then, uncheck the box next to DISPLAY ON EVENT WEBPAGE.
Then press SAVE INFO.
Once you're back on the SETUP page, you'll want to amend and add any other aspects of your event (full event description, venue, web page header image, etc.)
For more info on this process, please refer to Adding Details to Your Events.
Once you've populated your event with all this information you want to display, we can proceed with creating your tickets. Navigate to the TICKETS tab in the green bar.
At this point, on the left side of your screen, you'll see an area called TICKETS / 3RD PARTY PACKAGES. Click TICKET under Package Name.
The TICKET window will appear to the right.
For NAME, type in the preferred name of your ticket. What you type into the NAME section will appear on your webpage as the button people click to purchase a ticket.
For CONFIRMATION EMAIL, choose the confirmation email you'd like purchasers to receive after buying a ticket. For more information on this process, refer to Customizing Confirmation Emails.
For PACKAGE TEXT, type in any key information you want guests to know before purchasing. Anything you type into the PACKAGE TEXT area, will show up in the area above the drop down menu when attendees are purchasing tickets.
For NUMBER AVAILABLE, type in the maximum number of tickets you want to be available. If you intend on creating more than one ticket, type in the number of tickets you want available for this specific ticket.
For PRICE, type in the cost of this ticket. If you'd like to include SeatRobot fees in the price, check the box below that says INCLUDE FEES IN PRICE. Then, click SET. Once everything is set to your preferences, press SAVE.
Then to the left of your screen, you will make the ticket live on your webpage by clicking the checkbox next to the ticket you've created.
At this point, we'd recommend navigating back to your event web page to view your ticket. For mine, we can see my ticket, which I called 'Buy a Ticket!' is active.
If we press the 'Buy a Ticket!' button, the PURCHASE TICKET window will pop up. We can see that the text I entered into the PACKAGE TEXT text box shows up above the Select Quantity drop down menu. Attendees who want to purchase a ticket will be prompted to enter their contact details and payment details.
Thank you! Please contact SeatRobot support if you have any further questions about creating ticketed events.
