You can create coupons for distribution which people can apply to the price of tickets you sell via your event web page.
The coupons you create can have the following effects on ticket prices:
- Discount percentage: this type of coupon will discount the face value of any ticket it is applied to by a percentage you set.
- Discount dollar amount: this type of coupon will discount the face value of any ticket it is applied to by a fixed amount of dollars you set.
- Price override: this type of coupon will override the face value of any ticket it is applied to and replace it with the price you set
In Seatrobot, the coupons you create in an event can be applied to none, or one, or more of the tickets you have created. You can also apply multiple different coupons to any single ticket.
Creating Coupons
In TICKETS, click the + COUPON button to reveal the 'New Coupon' panel, as below:
Fill in each field, starting with an internal name you wish to give it. Below is an example of the panel filled in for a 25% discount coupon.
The start and end dates control when the coupons are effective and will automatically no longer work at midnight on the end date. To create a coupon which only works for a day, make the start and end date the same.
The 'Max Available' number sets a limit on how many times in total this coupon can be applied by all purchasers. Once this limit is reached, either the Insert Coupon field will no longer appear (if this was the only coupon applied to the Ticket), or that coupon will no longer work when applied.
When you are done, click Save.
The coupons you create will appear in the Coupons list in the left sidebar:
To make your coupons available to apply to your Tickets, activate their checkboxes to their left. (In the above example, only the $10 OFF and the 20% coupon can currently be applied to Tickets. You will not be able to activate coupons whose dates have expired.)
Assigning Coupons to Tickets
To assign one or more of your coupons to any one of your Tickets, click on the Ticket name to reveal its creation panel. Then, click the 'Coupons' button. This will display all active Coupons:
Check the coupon or coupons you wish to assign to the Ticket and click the Save button. Remember also to click the Save button in the Ticket creation panel to re-save the Ticket.
Now, when people go to your event web page and click on this Ticket button, a field for entering this coupon code (20OFF) will display. If this code is entered, the price of the ticket will be recalculated at a 20% discount and the purchaser will pay the discounted price for the Ticket.
Note: application of coupons to any Ticket does not also discount the Ticket Fee, the calculation of which remains based on the original face value of the Ticket as set in your TICKETS page in the event.
